The fashion show of the Braschi 2013 collection in Milan is a true fairy tale. I think that even thefamous storyteller Lewis Carroll wouldn’t have the words to describe as fully as possible those emotions and feelings, bright moments and memories that remain after the show. So, I can’t waitto share my impressions with you!
This time my fairy tale unfolded directly in Milan, while me and my sister-in-law Yana were the main characters.
As it is right and proper for any fairy tale, the magic finds the main characters right at the moment when they don’t expect it. This is exactly what happened to us. Our little, but truly grandiose adventure started as soon as we arrived at the hotel Chateau Monfort. Magic mirrors, carved doors, ornate staircases, various figurines and decorative elements in the form of a white rabbit – all in keeping with the best fairy traditions. If you say that this hotel is unique, you practically say nothing.
It is no coincidence that I mentioned famous Lewis Carroll above — “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” has always been my favorite book. Even the first Disney’s cartoon that I saw was based on this fairy tale. I think you already got the impression that I have a special reverentrelationship with this magic story, and when I entered the hotel it felt like I found myself in a true fairy tale — I felt as if I were that Alice. It’s no coincidence either that our agency is called“Wonderland”, since for me all fashion, shows, clothing, footwear and the like represent that very Wonderland so colorfully described by Lewis Carroll.
Having plunged into the atmosphere of Milan, as if Alice fell down the tunnel, me and Yana went to its very heart – the Braschi show. From the first moments, a welcoming and friendly Braschi team greeting the guests at the entrance cheered us up. Of course, such attention andgood attitude won us over right away.
The fashion show, as always, was held on the top level. Despite individuality and brilliance of each individual item, the concept of the collection itself was never lost among this genius and complexity of fur coats. The models were some kind of a “mix” comprising several relevantimages – bimbettes of the 1930’s, and enigmatic Martian, and people from the future. Such anunusual combination of images in one collection! Close attention was paid, of course, toabsolutely incredible and even a little bit crazy headwear used for the overall presented composition. They can be rightly called the secret magic weapon that is usually used in every fairy tale.
After the show we went to the back stage to look at the models and the show arrangement in general. Having obtained there another portion of magic, we proceeded to dinner where we were actually invited by Maurizio Braschi himself. The menu included fish dishes with various dainty dishes and delicacies. The dinner resembled rather a reception at the palace of a fairy queen, but at the same time all the guests found themselves in the warm and friendly atmosphere. Afterdinner we all lit sparklers, and a souvenir was given to each guest (each one of us got an individual present). As for me, I got a small silver turtle with Swarovski crystals. It is so nice, when the fairy tale ends, but you have not only memories, but also a rather “touchable” thing to take home with you. After the dinner we were in for a compelling dancing party with a cake and other sweet stuff.
During all that time that I have been involved in the fashion industry, I think that was the most magic evening for me.
