All know the great and the one of a kind Roberto Cavalli. Each time his collections amaze withtheir monumentalism and powerful energy. This is exactly what happened at the show Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 that I recently visited.
During the fashion week in Milan, Roberto Cavalli drew the line under the relevant fashion dispute “Will lace be in trend in the next season?” making his voice heard by displaying a new collection spring/summer 2013. It is hard to imagine something more womanly and elegant thatlace, although even in this case Roberto Cavalli couldn’t be trivial and added brutalism and massiveness to feminine images masterfully combining lace and laser perforation with soft-natured décor elements.
The peculiarity of Cavalli implied not only the use of lace, but its full harmony with relevant prints and bright accents. Complex in their color palette and texture, prints magically combined with patterns of the skin of snakes and leopards, as well as with geometrical figures and flowers. Extraordinary effect was reached due to complex lace creation using special equipment – fabric carving. Meanwhile, the famous designer used this technique not only for luxurious dinner clothes, but also for trouser suits, blouses, tops, tunics and skirts.
Among the colors recommended by Roberto Cavalli, neon shades of blue, green and orange dominate along with opposing obscure pink, aquamarine and light blue, and, of course, classic black and white colors.
Long dresses from Roberto Cavalli that no fashion show can do without, amazed not only with active use of lace, but also with semi-transparent fabrics and rich embroidery. Luxury andgrandiosity of clothing of the spring/summer 2013 collection once again confirmed the high status of their mighty creator.
Being a little bit tired of varicolorous, bright and unbelievably rich in décor collections, it seemed like the show of Gianfranco Ferre couldn’t anyhow impress its trendy audience. But true shock and delight awaited all of us! Having used traditional black-and-white classics in their clothing, designers from Gianfranco Ferre chose the right tactics. They demonstrated their permanent minimalist architectural style with the charm natural to this brand.
Models of complex and deconstruction fit executed in white and black formed the core of the collection. Clean triangle necklines, jackets with leather insets, long dresses with a high waistline and rigid corset tops – all that generated lots of buzz among all those who attended the show. Although the collection featured minimalist style, it sure didn’t lack accessories of various shapes and colors. So, one can definitely say that the new spring/summer 2013 collection ofGianfranco Ferre represents magnificent classics executed in keeping with all the best traditions.
Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 is one of the most entertaining and brightest trendyevents, since it is the venue of fusion of such diversified collections of famous designers andsewing masters as Gianfranco Ferre and Roberto Cavalli, PaolaFrani and Alberta Ferretti, AngeloMarani and many others.
